Digital Marketing Best Practices, Implementing the Ultimate Question, Exercising with Kids

I hope you’re having a great week.

As a Christian business leader you want to accelerate your growth, profit, and witness in the marketplace (and build a better life!). Our goal is to bring you the best tips, tools, and techniques to do just that!

Let’s get started!

Business

What the Best Marketers Do – Marketing spending used to be such a black hole. It was close to impossible to measure effectiveness and make quick pivots based on feedback. Digital is changing all of that. According to recent Bain research here are what the best marketers are doing.

  • Spend 2x more on digital marketing
  • Spend 2x less on TV
  • 3x more likely to use test results to change campaigns
  • 50% more likely to have digital marketing expertise in house
  • 2x more likely to own creative activities

Implement the Ultimate Question – The “Ultimate Question” and the update “The Ultimate Question 2.0” are both very worthy reads and showcase the power and simplicity of asking your customers one question.  The question is “Would you recommend us (our product or service) to a friend?”.

The question is awesome in its simplicity and depth. Any product, service or experience that we enthusiastically recommend to a friend has had a profound impact on our lives. Isn’t that what we all want our product or service to do? Another beautiful part of the Net Promoter System is how quickly you can get started. Here are 6 Simple Steps to getting started with NPS.

Health

Exercising With Kids – No time to exercise? There is a solution! We have 3 wonderful children (ages 4, 3 and 1) with another on the way in September. Before kids, I used to train for long distance triathlons. This long form training had multiple benefits – I could eat about anything I wanted to & it was amazing stress relief.

As the amount of time I have available for exercise has diminished I’ve had to get much more disciplined in my diet (still working on that) and get in my exercise whenever I can. Here is a great article on exercises you can do with your kids. Some are little crazy.. (like the Turkish Get Up). Below are a few of my favorite ideas:

  • Lunges – Kids love to ride on your shoulders. If just carrying them around isn’t enough of a workout, start doing some lunges!
  • Turtle Races – (or just fun roughhousing) – Again, kids love to be on your back. Give them a ride and challenge them to stay on. Hint: try to stay on the carpet or rug for the falls that will eventually happen (no matter how careful you are).
  • Run! – Kids love to run and especially love to outrun parents. My 4 year old is way faster than my 3 year old, but both love a good foot race. Encourage them, let them win. Have fun!

Life, Fun, Whatever!

Sugar Free Gummy Bears – There is a reason for the warning label on these sugar free goodies. Some of the most hilarious reviews I have ever read for a product. If you don’t mind a little gastrointestinal humor…

Here’s wishing you a great rest of your week!
